How it works
When you join TalkTalk, your local telephone exchange
is programmed to switch all your outgoing calls to the TalkTalk
network. You won't have to dial any special codes, plug a dialer box
into your wall and you don't have to change your phone number. Just
pick up the phone and dial.
Once you've joined TalkTalk, we will liase with BT to
get you switched as quickly as possible and we will send you a
letter confirming your connection date. You will also receive a
letter from BT confirming the changes. The whole process should take
no more than 20 days from the date you signed until the date you go
live. So it won't be long before you're enjoying free calls to other
TalkTalk customers from your home phone.
TalkTalk look after your call charges
and Talk Plan
Every month, TalkTalk will send you an itemised bill
listing all the calls you've made using your TalkTalk service,
including free calls to other TalkTalk customers. This bill will
also include any change for your chosen Talk Plan.
BT take care of your line rental and
calling features
Line Rental BT will continue to bill you for
your line rental.
Servicing your Line If anything goes wrong
with your line, call BT on 150 to get it fixed.
Calling Features BT calling features such as
1471 and Call Waiting will work in exactly the same way as before,
and BT will continue to bill you for them.

Display service. Call barring is also available. To set-up this
facility, please call customer services on 0870 444 1820.
To summarise, TalkTalk will
send you a monthly bill which clearly shows your free calls, Calling
Circle calls and your call charge breakdown, but BT will continue to
bill you for your line rental.
